Captain Todd Mansur was born and raised on the waters of Dana Point and has been a staple in the Orange County fishing industry ever since. The son of a fisherman, Todd spent his early years learning the ins and outs of the sea while working as a deck hand and crew member of many different charter boats in San Diego and Dana Point.
By the age of 21 in 1987, Captain Todd obtained his 100-ton merchant marine operators license and soon after he purchased his first charter boat, the Cyperlurus. In 1992, Dana Wharf’s President, Mike Hansen, asked Captain Todd to operate one of their primary landing boats, the Sum Fun. While running the Sum Fun, Capitan Todd became a premier Captain running fishing carters and whale watching cruises.
In 1997, Capitan Todd began running the Captain Hook fleet- owned by Barton Boyd, CEO of consumer products at Walt Disney. The Captain Hook fleet won numerous Marlin Fishing Tournaments and allowed Capitan Todd to explore the waters of California to Costa Rica.
In 2003, he began running his own swordfish boat out of Dana Point’s Commercial Docks and quickly became one of the highest catching swordfish boats in California.
In 2005, Jim Peterson and Ralph Brandi of Microsemi Corp, purchased the Boardroom and knew exactly who they wanted to be their partner- Captain Todd. Captain Todd helped purchase the 65 foot Hatteras and continues to run it’s private charters today. In 2017, Captain Todd purchased the Boardroom II. The newest addition to his fleet.
Captain Todd has been published numerous times, made dozens of T.V. appearances, is an award winning film maker and has been interviewed in newspaper and magazines articles from coast to coast. He continues to give educational speeches, is a founding member of the Gray Whale Foundation.
Captain Todd continues to run the Boardroom, The Boardroom II as well as the landing boats for Dana Warf Sport Fishing today.
